Sealed Electronics Extend Your Driving Fun

Traxxas shocked enthusiasts with the release of our exclusive watertight, sealed electronics in the E-Maxx that provided the freedom to drive where you want to drive through water, mud, snow, and other wet-running conditions that wouldn’t have been possible before. Now the Traxxas Bandit is Ready-To-Race® with this waterproof technology. The new XL-5 electronic speed control and the mini receiver are sealed against the elements giving you the freedom go places you might not have thought possible. It opens up a whole new world of adventure and fun. Wet muddy tracks are no problem for the Bandit.

 

A System of Power
Being faster is more fun! Bandit’s performance comes from a system of components that are engineered to work together for efficient operation and high-output performance. The Titan® 12T 550 modified motor is designed for brutal mod-motor power with virtually maintenance-free operation and long-lasting performance. The Titan’s integrated cooling fan pulls cool air through the motor to keep temperatures down. Airflow is routed through cooling passages molded into the motor plate. A cooler running motor equates to faster speeds, longer runtime, and extended motor life.

 

The waterproof XL-5 Electronic Speed Control tames the Titan 12T with high current handling, EZ-Set® one-button setup, and smooth, high-frequency control. Three drive profiles, thermal shutdown protection, gold-plated connectors, and incredibly low resistance are all included features you might expect to only be available on an expensive replacement ESC. The XL-5 is the first electronic speed control equipped with the patent-pending Training Mode™ that limits full-throttle power to 50%. This allows young or new drivers to safely develop their control skills before unlocking full power to the Titan 12T motor. Bandit is perfect for drivers of any age and skill level. The quest for ultimate speed began with the battery connector. As today’s batteries store more and more energy inside their cells, traditional battery connectors became a roadblock, unable to deliver all the energy the battery is capable of outputting. The new Traxxas High-Current Connector opens the door for unrestricted current flow.

Titan® 12-Turn 550 Modified Motor
The Bandit includes a powerful Titan 12T 550 modified motor with internal cooling fan. An industry first for a high-performance Ready-To-Race® buggy. The Titan’s over-sized armature (30% larger compared to 540-sized armatures) is equipped with 12-turns of pure copper wire for big torque and increased power-handling capabilities. Lower running temperatures are achieved with the integrated cooling fan. The Titan 12T requires very little maintenance and is designed for consistent torque and high speeds from run to run, without fading.

XL-5 Waterproof Electronic Speed Control
Designed and engineered by Traxxas, the XL-5 Electronic Speed Control handles the elements while smoothly supplying power to the motor. This high-performance ESC is packed with impressive specifications that are normally only found on more expensive high-end replacement units. The XL-5 features a completely waterproof design, three throttle profiles, Thermal Shutdown Protection, 4-8 cell compatibility, and built-in BEC. High frequency operation combined with ultra-low resistance make the XL-5 an efficient and ultra-smooth fully proportional speed control. High-Torque Waterproof Steering Servo
A race buggy needs a powerful steering servo for responsive performance, and Traxxas delivers with the 2056 high-torque servo. This waterproof steering servo uses O-ring seals to keep the fun going when things get wet. Waterproof for all-weather action, the 2056 provides 80 oz-in of steering muscle. That's twice the power of typical "standard" servos.

 

Waterproof Receiver Box
Bandit's innovative receiver box is fully waterproof, yet it's easy to access the receiver maintenance. The exclusive patent-pending design holds a 4-channel micro receiver that saves weight and provides reliable, long-range R/C performance.

 

Four Channel Micro Receiver
A four channel Traxxas micro receiver gives you additional room to grow! The 4-channel micro receiver features two steering servo ports, eliminating the need for a Y-harness.

 

Securely Mounted Electronics
The ESC and watertight receiver box are screwed to the chassis for ultimate mounting security. There’s no servo tape to loosen over time with dirt, heat, and collisions.

 

 

Durable Gray Parts
The durable monocoque chassis tub is made from highest quality nylon composites. Many parts including the chassis, shock bodies, and transmission housing are now molded in gray for a fresh new look.

 

Revo®-Spec Torque-Control™ Slipper Clutch
Revo technology is utilized to manage the increased power from the Titan 12T motor. The Torque-Control slipper clutch uses special semi-metallic friction material and finned aluminum alloy pressure plates to dissipate heat and provide consistent traction control. The semi-metallic friction material remains stable across a wide temperature range to provide smooth, linear engagement you can count on, run after run. Spur gears can be removed and replaced without altering the slipper adjustment. (patent pending)

 

Alias™ Tires and Tracer™ Wheels
Bandit comes with stylish 2.2" Tracer™ mirror-chrome five-spoke wheels. Performance-designed Alias™ 2.2" rear tires feature a step-pin design and come pre-glued from the factory. New Alias™ ribbed front tires offer superior directional control, the tire combination provides sure-footed traction on a variety of off-road terrains.

The industry standard 2.2" Tracer wheels allow for a wide array of accessory tires to be installed, including the new Traxxas Anaconda 2.2" street tires for Bandit and other buggies.

Powder Coated White Springs
New white springs feature a race-tuned spring rate for more responsive handling and the long-lasting, white powder coated finish keeps Bandit looking good down the road.

 

Included Optional Pinion Gear
The Bandit reaches its blistering 35+mph top speed using the optional 31-tooth pinion gear (included) and a 7-cell 8.4V battery pack (sold separately). Out of the box, the installed 26-tooth pinion gear is just right for all-around, on or off-road action.

 

 

ProGraphix® Painted Body
The Bandit's fully trimmed and painted ProGraphix body is available in red, blue, black, and white. Decals are also applied to save you time and get you driving just minutes out of the box. Traxxas’ ProGraphix bodies are the hottest looking bodies around and are only available on Traxxas Ready-to-Race® models.

 

Oil-Filled Ultra Shocks™
Bandit's oil-filled Ultra Shocks utilize X-ring technology for a perfect seal and super-smooth performance. They are fully tunable with a wide range of oils, springs, and pistons. Features include pressure bladders for air/oil separation and spring clips to precisely change the ride height and spring pre-load. They can be renewed in minutes with our inexpensive rebuild kits.

 

Motor Mount with Cooling Channels
The sealed gearbox protects the transmission components from dirt and rocks. The molded motor plate includes finned cooling channels where the motor mounts to the motor plate. The cooling channels work together with the internal Titan 12T motor fan to pull air through the motor for superior cooling.

 

Brushless Ready Magnum 272™ Transmission
The Bandit’s Magnum 272 transmission is assembled with new all metal gear internals riding on ultra-smooth sealed ball bearings. Combined with the smooth 48-pitch gears, power is delivered quietly to the durable telescoping U-joint driveshafts. The sealed gearbox protects the transmission components from dirt and rocks.

 

Brushless Ready Planetary Gear Differential
The composite Traxxas planetary gear differential now features a steel ring gear with a nylon housing for long life. It uses hardened steel internal gears for maximum strength during rigorous off-road bashing. This type of differential requires virtually no maintenance and its efficient design puts maximum tire-shredding torque to the wheels.

 

Fiber Composite Arms
Proven suspension geometry is carried over from the race-winning Traxxas buggies. Solid, durable camber links take the guess work out of set-up and are captured to keep you on the track even when the going gets rough. Captured rod ends provide unmatched durability and they simply won't pop off unexpectedly.

 

Bellcrank Steering
High-performance bellcrank steering system minimizes bump steer to increase cornering stability.

 

Telescoping Driveshafts
Slider driveshafts are extremely durable, lightweight, and they allow greater articulation for increased suspension travel.

 

Secure Wing Mount
For secure wing mounting a Z-bent wire mount keeps the wing held solidly in place. The wing's new design makes it easy to remove and re-install for fast battery changes.

 

TQ Radio System
The included TQ radio system includes a high-power transmitter with a specially designed comfort grip, a precise high-torque steering servo, and a compact receiver for up to a quarter-mile range. The perfectly balanced TQ transmitter features servo reversing, a low battery indicator, electronic trim control, and has digital proportional control for precise steering and throttle inputs.
