Only Slayer™ puts you behind the wheel of an authentic short-course racing
truck with the award-winning power and performance of Traxxas' TRX® 3.3 Racing
Engine. With a power-to-weight ratio that rivals the full-size 900+ horsepower
Pro 4WD racing trucks that compete in TORC™ (THE Traxxas Off-Road Championship™)
series events, Slayer brings the excitement of short-course racing to your
backyard, local track or favorite R/C hot spot. Fully assembled and
Ready-To-Race®, Slayer delivers the raw sound of nitro burning horsepower and
the fierce intensity of wheel-to-wheel competition. It's the ultimate in realism
in off-road racing.
Seven
consecutive national championships has proven the superior design of the Revo-Spec
rocker-actuated suspension system that mirrors the huge travel and plush damping
of the full-size Pro 4WD short course race trucks. Full-time 4-Wheel-Drive
delivers track-gripping traction for hard hitting acceleration through the turns
and precise control that lets you thread the needle through the traffic. The
patent-pending suspension has greater travel than typical nitro buggies and
trucks, and can soak up big hits that would sideline other trucks. The
suspension action is light and supple over small bumps, but when bigger jolts
compress the suspension farther, the progressive rocker geometry instantly
increases spring and damping rates to absorb the impact. And it's fully
adjustable; ride height, progressive rate, and damping can all be fine tuned
independently. This no-compromise setup is simply not possible with conventional
suspension designs.
Slayer
is built on the 3D semi-monocoque chassis originally developed for the Revo.
Formed from 3mm 6061 aluminum, the chassis is titanium-anodized and T6 hardened
for strength. The integrated battery box accepts 4 AA cells or a 5-cell
rechargeable receiver pack (sold separately). The ultra compact throttle servo
mount ties rigidly into the chassis and supports the air filter, and the
low-profile receiver box protects our latest 2216 4-channel micro receiver. A
blue-anodized crimp nut locks the antenna tube in place, so it stays put no
matter how rough the racing gets, and an integrated roll hoop/carrying handle
spares the TRX 3.3 engine from rollover abuse.

Pro
4WD racing demands maximum horsepower to turn up the heat on the race track.
Slayer punches hard with massive TRX 3.3 power. With its huge, wide powerband,
bury the throttle at anytime to send all four tires into a raging fury of
roosting dirt. The championship-winning TRX 3.3 Racing Engine drives a low-mass
2-speed transmission for amazing acceleration and top speed. The transmission is
forward-only, eliminating the extra components and weight of reverse for
quick-revving performance—top speeds can exceed 45mph out of the box and 50+
with an optional clutch bell, with tire-shredding acceleration off the line. The
150cc fuel tank developed for the Revo® Platinum Edition delivers extra run time
between fill ups for hours of driving fun, and a high-flow dual-stage air filter
and Resonator™ mirror-polish aluminum tuned pipe keep the TRX 3.3 engine
breathing clean and running its best. The TRX 3.3 engine is an investment in
performance for years to come, fully protected by the exclusive
Traxxas Lifetime Engine Replacement Plan.
With three full-size trucks in TORC competition, Traxxas knows how an R/C
short-course racer should look and handle. Slayer's full-fendered bodywork
captures the look of Mike Jenkins #47 Pro 4WD race machine, and the satin-finish
wheels have a bead-lock look just like the real deal. For a track-ready look
that performs, Traxxas' engineers developed a multi-terrain tread design and
specially formulated rubber compound to give Slayer the perfect balance of
forward traction and slip-angle in turns. R/C racing has never been so real.

Mirror-Polish
Resonator
Dual-Chamber Aluminum Pipe
Nitro engines rely on properly shaped exhaust pipes for maximum power and
efficiency. The Slayer’s Resonator™ pipe was shaped with data collected from
hours of dyno testing. The dual-chamber design is precisely tuned for low-rpm
torque to get the Slayer off the line quickly, and a big horsepower hit on the
top end for screaming speed. A mirror-polish finish looks extra stylish, but
it’s more than beautiful—it’s also easier to keep clean.
GTR
Aluminum Shocks
High performance off-road racing demands the most from shock absorbers, so
Slayer is equipped with aluminum shock bodies to resist heating and deformation
no matter how hard the suspension is pumping. Threaded collars allow ride height
to be adjusted quickly and easily, without tools.
Extra-long
Suspension Travel
Slayer’s inboard shock system provides the most bump-eating suspension travel
possible, as well as greater adjustability. Tunable progressive damping rates
and independent ride height adjustment can be set quickly and easily.
Nearly
3-Inches of
Gound-Clearance
Slayer rolls over rough terrain with 2.95 inches of daylight between the chassis
and the ground, giving you the confidence to tackle the toughest terrain.
Short-Course
Racing
Style Tires and Wheels
Slayer rolls out on authentic wheels and tires that perform as well as they
look. The multi-surface tread pattern grips tenaciously on the street and roosts
hard in the dirt, all while looking stylish on satin-finish wheels. A unique
dual-diameter rim design allows for realistic sidewall proportions without
compromising suspension clearance and articulation, and performance-tuned
inserts help the soft-compound tires resist cornering and acceleration loads,
allowing you to jump, bash, and powerslide at will.
Large
High-Volume Dual-Stage Air Filter
The Slayer’s high-output TRX 3.3 engine breathes clean air through a new, larger
air filter. The dual-stage design traps large particles in the outer element,
while the inner element flows clean air to the engine. The new, larger diameter
foam elements allow greater airflow, and more air means more horsepower.
150cc
Fuel Tank
More fuel means more drive time between refills, and with 150cc on board, Slayer
stretches every run. A pull handle makes it easy to yank the tank open for fast
filling, and the tank is specially designed to maintain consistent fuel flow no
matter how rough the driving conditions. A lowered sump keeps the fuel pickup
submerged, and baffles prevent fuel from sloshing out of the sump.
Compact
Receiver and Battery
Box with Integrated Personal
Transponder Mount
The compact radio box accepts 4 AA alkaline batteries or a 5-cell flat
rechargeable receiver pack (sold separately). The on/off switch is built in, and
a blue-anodized crimp nut holds the antenna tube tightly so rollovers won’t yank
it out. Ready to race your Slayer? A transponder mount is integrated right into
the receiver box.
Digital
High-Torque Steering Servo
Slayer steers with precision and authority thanks to its digital high-torque
servo. With 125 oz.-in. of torque, the 2070 servo has up to three times the
power of many other RTR vehicles’ servos, with the precision centering and fine
control only a digital servo can offer. And it’s fast, too; transit time is just
0.16 second, giving the Slayer instant response to your commands.
Four
Channel Micro Receiver
Traxxas’ new 4-channel micro receiver provides reliable reception and saves
weight. It’s protected from the elements by Slayer’s enclosed radio box.
Titanium-Anodized
3D
Semi-Monocoque Chassis
Slayer’s uniquely sculptured chassis is made from a single sheet of T6-hardened
6061 aluminum and anodized with a durable titanium-tone finish. First seen on
the ground-breaking Revo, the innovative design’s integrated engine cradle and
deep central channel give the Slayer incredible strength while reducing weight.
Chassis
Nerf Bars
Real door-to-door racing is possible with Slayer thanks to these chassis nerf
bars that let trucks rub together without tangling wheels and causing a crash.
The nerf bars also support the body to prevent “parachuting” over jumps.
Full-size short-course racing trucks often shed body panels during a race, but
Slayer’s shell will stay put.
Realistic
& Functional
Front and Rear Bumpers
More than mere styling pieces, Slayer’s tube-style front and rear bumpers
provide crash protection while adding to the truck’s realistic looks. The
bumpers are designed to flex and spring back from impacts to protect the chassis
and body.
Auto-Shifting
Two-Speed Transmission
It takes more than a powerful engine to give a truck eyeball-flattening
acceleration and high top speed; gearing is critical. Slayer features custom
transmission ratios specifically tailored to suit the short-course racing style
wheels and tires, and a quick-shifting two-speed transmission for a fast blast
off the line and all the full-throttle speed you can handle. The transmission’s
shift point is fully adjustable so you can set it to engage second gear as early
or late as you like.
Torque-Control™
Slipper Clutch
Dirt-spraying, wheel-spinning launches are a blast, but when you want more
controlled power delivery, a slipper clutch is the feature you need. Instead of
spinning the tires, the slipper clutch literally slips to absorb excess power
until there’s enough traction to put it down on the ground. The Slayer’s
Torque-Control slipper clutch uses special semi-metallic friction material and
finned aluminum alloy pressure plates to dissipate heat and provide consistent
traction control. Gearing can be changed without altering the slipper
adjustment, and a center ball bearing maintains precise, long-lasting alignment
with near friction-free running and virtually zero maintenance.
Large
Diameter Disc Brake
With more than 45mph on tap, Slayer demands the best brakes. Traxxas delivers
with a big 42mm steel rotor and semi-metallic brake pads that provide four-wheel
braking with fine control, whether you need to scrub just a little speed to
sneak under another racer in a corner, or a big grab of whoa-power at the end of
a parking lot speed run.
Sealed
Limited-Slip Differentials
Slayer’s high-tech differentials are designed to handle the intense power of the
TRX 3.3 engine with adjustable limited-slip action. The differentials are
precision sealed with Traxxas X-ring seals to hold silicone fluid inside. The
silicone lube constantly flows back into the gear teeth to provide resistance to
power-robbing “unloading” that often affects grease-lubed differentials. By
changing the viscosity of the fluid, the amount of limited-slip action can be
changed. In short, Slayer’s silicone-filled diffs give you better traction,
handling and control.
Super-Duty
Driveshafts
It takes a strong drivetrain to channel TRX 3.3 power to the wheels. Slayer’s
oversized, true-curvilinear telescoping driveshafts permit universal joints to
be fitted on both ends of the driveshafts. Universal joints operate with greater
efficiency and less wear than conventional dogbone designs, and also permit
greater suspension travel without compromising power delivery. Smooth-turning
and virtually maintenance free, Slayer’s Super Duty driveshafts are a perfect
match for its high power and off-road mission.
Sealed
Pivot Ball Suspension
A Traxxas hallmark since the debut of the Revo, Slayer’s exclusive rubber-sealed
pivot-ball suspension is impervious to contamination from dirt and debris and
more easily adjustable than conventional designs. Flexible rubber bellows seal
the suspension pivots without hindering operation, and rubber-sealed bearings
minimize friction while warding off contamination.
Tight-Handling
Progressive-2 Rockers
Conventional stand-up shocks can’t provide the multi-rate performance of
Slayer’s rocker-actuated shocks. Unlike standard designs that offer the same
amount of spring rate no matter where the suspension is in its travel range,
Slayer’s Revo-derived design steadily increases spring rate and damping force as
the suspension is compressed, keeping you in control. In addition to these
benefits, the shocks are rigidly mounted to the chassis, protected from dirt,
rocks, and crash damage. For more on Traxxas’ exclusive inboard shock system,

ProGraphix®
Painted Bodies
No need for a paint or sticker session; Slayer rolls out of the box ready for
action with a factory-finished and mounted ProGraphix body and decals already
applied for you, so its Ready-to-Race®. Traxxas Slayer Prographix bodies are
available in red and blue themes as well as two race replica versions: Scott
Douglas/Mike Oberg Edition (Amsoil®) & Rick Huseman Edition (Fabtech®).
Rubber-Sealed
Ball Bearings
Slayer is built for extreme offroad use, so only the best rubber-sealed bearings
will do. Traxxas’ precision ball-bearings resist dirt and dust to deliver
lasting low-friction performance, run after run.
Hex
Hardware
Professional-grade hex hardware is used throughout for maximum durability and
convenient maintenance. A black-oxide coating resists corrosion and gives Slayer
an all-business look.
TQ™
Radio System
Traxxas’ proven radio system keeps you in complete control with a high-power
signal for excellent range—up to a quarter-mile! Well balanced and ergonomically
designed for comfort, the TQ transmitter features servo reversing, electronic
trim adjustment, an LED low-battery indicator and fully proportional, digital
control for total command of steering, brake and throttle.
